Destination Photographer: Under the Tuscan Sun (Street Fashion Portrait Photography in Pisa, Tuscany, Italy)
Posted on May 27, 2012
Foreign destinations present a great opportunity to showcase fashion collections in an environment that adds additional interest for the viewer. For personal portraiture it’s also a great opportunity to update your lifestyle wall art and/or albums within an attractive and relaxed setting. Destination portrait photography is not as expensive as many people may think, with low cost flights to most European destinations, a destination photographer can be hired with minimal travel expenses.
Whilst on a recent trip to Florence, Tuscany in Italy, I travelled to nearby Pisa and met up with Damien, Chris and a few other like-minded photographers from the UK and USA for a creative shoot with models Deborah Parcesepe and Charo Galura. Being a creative shoot there was no real agenda, other than to use the Tuscan Sun as our only light source. Leaving our usual lighting equipment behind enabled us to shoot quicker and move more freely around the streets of Pisa. Using the Sun as a reliable lighting tool is not something that we are often able to do in the UK, and so it’s always a welcome change.
Below are a selection of my images from the day, feel free to leave comments at the end.
