Destination Photographer: Model Portfolio Photoshoot in Pisa, Tuscany, Italy
Posted on June 5, 2012
Following on from my previous post: I stayed an extra couple of days in Pisa and arranged a model portfolio photoshoot. Through a travel notice that I had posted whilst in Tuscany, I arranged a photoshoot with Natalya who was looking to leverage more promotional work. To achieve this she needed a collection of fresh portfolio images to send to agencies. Natalya liked the images in my portfolio, and I could see that there was room for improvement / diversity with the portfolio images she already had.
Natalya and her husband Stefano travelled down from Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna on the day of the shoot and had to return home in the evening, which gave me a short time in the mid-day and early afternoon sun to shoot. Although this time of day is least favoured by most photographers, I still opted to leave my lighting equipment behind. With a short window for walking/shooting, using available light enabled us to change location and shoot quicker providing more variety in the images, which was the priority that Natalya expressed. We traversed the city streets from North of the Leaning Tower of Pisa to the Southern part of the city on the opposite side of the River Arno, and also managed to squeeze in a few outfit changes.
Below are a selection of my images from the photoshoot, please feel to leave comments at the end.
